Shredding Documents
Paper Shredding Services

SOME MUNICIPALITIES offer shredding services for residents with larger quantities of confidential paper at scheduled recycling events. Call your local municipality for availability. Residents can shred their own documents and place them a brown paper bag in their curbside recycling bin. The ecopark will accept personal documents for shredding during all operating hours from Monroe County households--items from businesses, home offices, not-for-profits, etc. will be rejected. Documents must be presorted (removed from folders, envelopes, binders, etc.) prior to arrival at the ecopark. Only documents containing personal information can be placed in the shred toters (no newspapers, generic documents, magazines, plastics, etc.). Paper clips and staples are OK. This service is NOT 'certified' destruction--it is a household paper shredding service. Material will be held in locked bins and periodically taken off-site for shredding.

BUSINESSES, HOME OFFICES, NOT-FOR-PROFITS, etc. can call Cascades Recovery (527-8110) for certified document destruction. A listing of additional companies can be found under the "Paper-Shredded" section in the Yellow Pages.
