There are several major electronics recyclers operating in Monroe County (including Sunnking, RCR&R and Maven Tech.) with drop-off locations. To find the drop-off location nearest you, click on the 'More Info' link for each company.

Cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs and computer monitors are accepted at the ecopark during Special Collections ($10 each - credit card only). Flat panel TVs and monitors are accepted free-of-charge. Your local Best Buy store will accept no more than three CRTs for recycling (up to 42 inches).

Electronics retailers that offer delivery service may offer free 'haul-away' for the item you are replacing.

The New York State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act requires manufacturers to provide a free and convenient way for consumers to recycle computers and computer peripherals (cable, cord, or wiring permanently affixed to or incorporated into such product) including: monitors, electronic keyboards, electronic mice or similar pointing devices, facsimile machines, document scanners, printers (only those items intended for use with a computer and weighing less than 100 lbs.), televisions (as well as cathode ray tubes) and small scale servers.

As of January 1, 2012, the above act prohibits waste haulers from picking up certain ewaste left curbside for disposal. See www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/66872.html for details.
