Early Intervention Evaluation Teams

To be eligible for services, children must be under 3 years of age and have a confirmed disability or established developmental delay, as defined by the State, in one or more of the following areas of development: physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and/or adaptive. Regulations that went into effect in June 2010 established eligibility for a child with a delay only in communication to meet the criteria of 2 standard deviations, using a standardized test. If the test is inadequate the evalutor must state why and is allowed to determine eligibility using clinical indicators as defined in regulation.
