Advertising Opportunities

ROC offers a variety of opportunities for local businesses and corporations to advertise their products in our terminal. Our Airport is a great place to purchase advertising space, the advertising is highly visible throughout our terminal and is available on both sides of security. Over 2.4 million passengers traveled through ROC in 2017 and that doesn't even count the hundreds of thousands of meeters and greeters that fill our airport annually.

ROC is the first impression business travelers get of the Greater Rochester region. Advertising at ROC portrays the many important contributions local businesses and corporations have leant to our regions economic vitality. Below are examples of the different advertising mediums available at ROC.   • Coloramas
    Large, two-sided, back-lit units that hang from the airport ceiling.  There is one Colorama at ROC at the head of concourse B. 
  • Dioramas
    Smaller than the coloramas, the back-lit units are placed throughout the airport terminal. Dioramas appear on flight information displays as seen here, as well as beyond security in concourses A and B, upstairs in each waiting area rotunda, along the terminal walls in the upper halls, above the escalators and along the baggage claim area. 
  • Bus Shelter Posters
    There are two bus shelters on the terminal roadway and one bus shelter at the exit of the airport facing the intersection of Brooks Avenue and Buell Road. The shelters can accommodate two posters, one on each side.
  • Baggage Claim Banners
    ROC has ample wall space along the six baggage claim belts to hang banners. The baggage claim area is on the lower level with the car rental agencies.
  • Parking Garage Banners
    There is limited space along the walls of the parking garage for banners also. The parking garage banners face the short term parking lot and the main terminal road along the front of ROC.
  • Product Displays
    There is limited space throughout the airport terminal for privately owned company kiosks, automotive displays, product displays, etc. Please contact us if you have a free standing display, product or kiosk you would like to have placed at the airport for a designated time period.

Airport Tours

To see how it all works, the Greater Rochester International Airport offers an Airport Tour Program.

Tours are available and offered without charge to groups such as schools, scouting organizations, senior centers, church clubs, professional societies, etc.

What You Will See

Our tours provide a close-up look at Monroe County’s airport and how it operates, as well as useful traveling tips. Tour participants see an airport in action.

In addition to airport and aviation commentary by a tour guide, presentations may be offered by different airport specialty groups, such as airline representatives, U.S. Customs, airport fire and rescue, airport officials, law enforcement agencies and security specialists etc.

We can customize a tour to fit the interests or special needs of different groups. Tours generally take one to three hours and group sizes are typically limited to 24 people.

Baggage Claim

For traveler convenience, four baggage claim carousels are centrally located at ground level in the terminal. For baggage assistance, contact the appropriate airline baggage office or go to the individual airline ticket counter.

Banking

For your convenience the Canandaigua National Bank and Trust has ATM machines located in the terminal's food court and in the baggage claim by Hudson News.

Business Opportunities

The Greater Rochester International Airport periodically has terminal space available for food, retail and service concession business opportunities. As these opportunities develop, Monroe County will advertise a “Request for Proposal” in The Daily Record and other business publications for the specific concession. Please refer to recent editions of the The Daily Record for any current request information.

Airport Mailers, Inc.

Alternative to Surrendering Personal Items

The Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) was the first airport in New York State to offer departing passengers an alternative to surrendering items of personal value at security checkpoints. Passengers no longer have to deal with the frustration of parting with items due to security constraints.

Airport Mailers, Inc. is a convenient service that places secured, blast resistant drop boxes beyond security at each ROC checkpoint. Passengers will have the option to mail their items back to themselves at an affordable cost that in no way infringes upon security guidelines. This gives passengers the opportunity to maintain possession of items that had normally been surrendered at checkpoints post 9/11. Surrendered items are sent to a metal recycling facility.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for all aircraft operations on the ground and in the airspace of the Rochester International Airport.

The FAA operates the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). The tower has a radar room or TRACON (Terminal Radar Approach Control) where air traffic controllers monitor the in-flight activity of all aircraft entering Rochester airspace. The Rochester ATCT is one of only a few towers in the U.S. to use the latest state-of-the-art radar display system know as STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System). STARS enables the controllers to guide more aircraft, more safely than ever before. Radar data can be received from multiple sources, virtually eliminating equipment failures.

Restaurants

  • Taste of Rochester

Taste of Rochester, offers local area favorites ocated in the Airport's main food court.  Passengers can enjoy a variety of menu items with local ties such as: Abbott's, Tahou Garbage Plates, Salvatores Pizza, Cheesy Eddies,  Nathan's Soups, Red Osier, Zweigles and more.  The Taste of Rochester is also home to the official Taste of NY product offerings.
Hours of operation:  5:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.

  • Subway

A deli style franchise serving fresh bread baked daily.  Sandwiches and subs are made to order and prepared in front of the customer.  Full menu with dining area in the Airport's main food court.

  • Gusto

An Italian Ristorante. In Italian, "gusto" means taste or flavor.  Located in the Airport's main food court.  Grab a snack or sit down for table service.  Featuring made-to-order breakfast, antipasti, homemade soups, salads, grilled paninis, pasta and more!

  • Dunkin' Donuts

Enjoy a cup of coffee, a latte or your favorite drink of choice before boarding your flight.  Compliment your beverage with your choice of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, croissants, muffins and other delicious bakery items.  Located in the Airports main food court.

  • Hudson News

A convenience style store and gift shop located in the center of the baggage claim near the new passenger greeting area.

Hours of operation:  7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.

Bars and Lounges

Relax and unwind before, after, or anytime in between flights at one of two places located post-security.

  • East Avenue Pub (Soon to be Flight Deck Diner)
    Located on Concourse A (Soon to be located in Rotunda A at the end of the Airports Main Food Court)
    Hours of operation:  11:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.
  • Genesee Pub & Alehouse (Soon to be On the ROC's Sports Bar & Grill)
    Located on Concourse B (Soon to be located in Rotunda B at the end of the Airports Main Food Court)

Frontier provides free Wi-Fi for passengers traveling through ROC. 

Private work area's are located throughout the terminal along with a complimentary business center located post-security for ticketed passengers.

View your Gate Live from anywhere in the ROC Terminal.  That's right, relax in the food court - and watch your Gate on your mobile device!

No need to rush to the gate here at ROC. Now, using the Airports free WiFi from Frontier Wirelss, passengers can use the new passenger information network "ROCview" and view their Gate Activity in Live, real time.  Relax in the food court,  at one of the new establishments or entertain yourselves in the new Strong Museum of Play Interactive Zones featuring the National Toy Hall of Fame and World Video Game Hall of Fame -- all while watching your Gate Activity on your own mobile device.  If you don't have your own mobile device, the Airport has provided fixed tablets in the food court so you can use one of ours.  And, there's even games on the tablet for our little passengers to pass the time.  

Information Center

VisitRochester

A visitor information booth is located on the first floor of the Greater Rochester International Airport, near the baggage claim area. The booth is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Brochures are on display at all times.

Interfaith Chapel

The Interfaith Chapel is located on the lower level, non-secure side of the Airport.  The frosted glass windows and bubbling water fountain provide a serene sanctuary setting. It is open 24/7 and all are welcome to use the chapel at their leisure.

Lost and Found

For items lost at the Security Checkpoint, please call the ROC TSA Coordination office at 585-463-2980.

For items lost on the aircraft or at the gate area, please contact the respective airline’s lost and found.  Passengers can file a claim at the Airline's webpage for lost items.

If you have discovered that your item has been lost in general areas of the airport and five (5) days have not passed, please contact the Airport's Communication Center at 585 753-7001.

If you have discovered your item has been lost in general areas of the airport and five  (5) days have passed, please contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Property Clerk at 585 753-4005.

Mail Facilities

A FedEx, UPS and US Postal Service mail box are conveniently located at the bottom of the escalator in the center observatory and the mail is collected daily. In addition, there is a full-service US Post Office conveniently located five minutes from the airport entrance at 1485 Howard Road. Its lobby area is open 24 hours every day.

Meeting Room and Space Rental

Holding a meeting within the airport is convenient for out-of-town as well as local business professionals. The airport is conveniently located and well-equipped to accommodate the business sector of Rochester and welcomes members of the community to utilize our public areas for meetings and events.

Conference Rooms

ROC has different conference rooms to accommodate your needs. If you are a ticketing passenger looking to meet with other ticketed passengers, there is a business center on the secure side of the airport near Concourse A entrance that is complimentary to use.  

If you are looking to set up a meeting on-site with non-ticketed passengers, the Airport has two conference rooms available for rent.  Due to the ROC renovation wrapping up, these executive-style conference rooms are only available by calling Airport Administration at 585-753-7020.  Each room accommodates up to 20 people.

Pets & Service Animals

Regulations for travel with pets & service animals varies from airline to airline.  The Airport has designated "Pet Relief" areas for furry friends & service animals, located outside the lower east and west end of the baggage claim/arrivals roadway.  The airport also has a "Service Animal Relief" room located post-security on Concourse A just past the restrooms.

Please refrain from bringing pets into the terminal to meet/greet arriving passengers.

Public Airfield Viewing Area

The Public Airfield Viewing area is a 3,800 square foot, observatory located at the upper west end of the Airport's main ticketing lobby, adjacent to the American Airlines ticket counter.  This area is assessible to non-ticketed passengers, individual work stations, public telephones and comfortable seating.  The Public Airfield Viewing area captures an impressive view of the airfield landscape overlooking the Airport's main runway.

Restroom Facilities

Restrooms are conveniently located in both concourses, at the east and west end of the food court and at each end of the lower level baggage claim area. They are all wheelchair accessible and equipped with baby changing stations. A unisex companion-care is also available adjacent to the restrooms to allow for family needs, along with facilities for the disabled.

Hudson News gift shop offers a combination of traditional gifts, newsstand and traveler conveniences in addition to an exciting array of the highest quality apparel and theme-oriented merchandise.

Skycap Services

PrimeFlight Aviation is contracted by the Airlines to Provide Wheelchair Assistance

To assist with wheelchair services, Skycaps are stationed at curb side on the upper level Departures Roadway near the center doors to assist departing passengers requiring wheelchair assistance. Skycaps may assist passengers requiring wheelchair assistance with their luggage and are available to transport passengers using wheelchairs to and from aircraft gates. Skycaps also meet arriving passengers who have requested wheelchair assistance at the gates and are able to transport passengers using wheelchairs to the baggage claim.  Passengers should contact their airline directly in advance to make requests for wheelchair assistance so that assistance is available throughout their travels at their connection points and final destination.

Smarte Cart Rental

To assist with baggage handling, luggage cart dispensers are located at each end of the baggage claim area, and on the first floor of the parking garage. They may be rented for $4 each with a rebate of 25 cents issued upon return of the cart. The dispensers are equipped to accept credit cards.

Smoking

Effective July 24, 2003, public and work places across New York State are smoke free. This includes bars and restaurants in the terminal. Smoking is not permitted throughout the Greater Rochester International Airport. Ashtrays are located outside of the terminal near all the key entrances of the airport.Smoking is permitted in the parking garage.

TTY, Hearing Loops & Smart LED Lighting  

TTY phones for the deaf and hearing impaired are located throughout the ROC marked with TTY signs.  Hearing loops and counter loops have been installed at all airline and car rental counters, food and beverage concessions and airline gate counters to assist passengers who use hearing devices.  These locations are marked throughout ROC with hearing loop signage.  Visual cues using “smart” color-coded LED lighting has been integrated with the flight information display system to convey gate activity.  Color shift lighting in the gate areas directs passenger’s attention to key messaging such as boarding or emergency messaging.

Wheelchair Assistance

Passengers who need wheelchair assistance when departing ROC may use the "Press for Assistance" buttons located along the Departures Roadway. (Please note, during the terminal revitalization project the call buttons are out of use - passengers should pull to the center entrance of the terminal upon drop off for skycap assistance). 

Skycaps are also located in the booth near the Center Entrance of the Departures Roadway.

To arrange for Wheelchairs at connections throughout your air travel contact your airline directly by calling their reservations line. 

Please allow time for your wheelchair to arrive. Longer waits may occur during high traffic volume and increased demand.
