Environmental Chemist II
Description of Duties
This is a technical position involving the laboratory analysis of water, food, soil, wastewater, and other sample matrices. The employee may work in a laboratory, test site, or satellite laboratory. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a higher-level staff member. This position differs from Environmental Chemist III by virtue of the more complex laboratory tests performed and lead supervisory responsibility. Lead supervision is exercised over Environmental Chemist IIIs operating laboratory equipment and conducting tests.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Environmental Chemist III immediately preceding the date of the written test.
