Description of Duties

This is an administrative and technical position responsible for the management, planning and execution of principal projects conducted by the Monroe County Department of Information Services.  The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Information Services or other higher-level staff member.  Supervision is exercised over a technical staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam: 

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus, EITHER:

  1. Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree, plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** experience in the development and implementation of information technology systems, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR,
  2. Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** experience in the development and implementation of information technology systems, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity,  PLUS possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification*; OR
  3.  An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

*copy of certification must be provided at time of application.
